Painting Blue Moon
My paintings and jewelry express my fierce love and my desire to enhance this amazing world through art. One painting takes months of creation because of my unique techniques. I start by cutting wood to my desired canvas size, then prepare them for accepting pigment. I predominantly use acrylic paint and raw pigments. I paint. It dries. Then I cover the entire piece in a heavy gloss medium and allow it to dry for many days. Then I paint more. This process continues up to 20 layers alternating between pigment and gloss acrylic medium. Once compete, these one of a kind paintings have a depth that evolves depending on the angle and light. Unfortunately, a photograph does not begin to express what’s going on in these 8” by 10” meditative jewels.
